The “Your startup disk is almost full” message means exactly what it says. If this happens, reboot the Mac while holding down the Option key on the keyboard. For startup disk, start or restart your Mac, then press-hold Command + R keys. From the Mac Finder, pull down the “Go” menu and choose “Go To Folder”. Not surprisingly, many of the startup modifiers affect the disk used to boot the Mac.
